The
Banar goes out five times a year to Blackburn residents and businesses
to celebrate community and provide information on local programs and
events. Local businesses use the BANAR to stay "top of mind" to their present
and future customers. The BANAR is a high quality 28+ page, black print
magazine that is published compliments of Budd Publishing. Printing and
operating costs are covered by advertisers and the BCA.

2013 Deadlines and Delivery Dates:
Jan 16 / Feb 2-4 March 20 / April 6-8 May 8 / May 25-27 Aug 14 / Sept 10-12 Oct 16 / Nov 2-4. It is unlikely that the dates are changed but please check here before the deadline date if your ad or article is time sensitive.
Circulation for SeptemberApril issues is 4,000; May issue 5,500 (Fun Fair issue).
Delivery
The Banar is delivered by local community groups. Copies of the BANAR
are available at the Blackburn Library, Shoppers Drug Mart or Metro while quantities last.
Opportunity for groups to
earn $350 by delivering the BANAR. Sixteen route cards with maps and instructions are provided to help organize the delivery. An additional 1,500 copies of the June issue are dropped off at local stores and outlets. Each route takes 1.5 to 2 hours
to complete.
Articles can be sent in the body of an e-mail or attached as a Microsoft Word document to Budd Publishing. The editor reserves the right to make changes.
Jpegs of photos
sent by email need to be high resolution (300 dpi at the size to be
printed). Photos can also be dropped off or mailed to 5729 Kemplane
Court, Ottawa, ON K1W 1B8.
Ad specifications: Ads
are to to be the correct size and sent in Photoshop (300 dpi),
Illustrator, Quarkxpress or as a PDF file. Cost for creating or making
changes to ads is $65/hour. Colour advertising is available for an
additional cost.

1/4 page 4.95 w x 2.75 h / 3.65 w x 4.25 h: $80/issue ($360 package)
1/3 page 3.65 w x 5.25 h / 4.95 w x 4 h: $100/issue ($450 package)
1/2 page 7.5 w x 4.25 h / 4.95 w x 6.25 h: $140/issue ($630 package)
2/3 page 4.95 w x 9.272 h: $200/issue ($900 package)
Full page 7.5 x 10 h: $300/issue ($1350 package)
Business Profile:
$170 (7.5 w x 4.75 h)
Bonus for 1st time advertisers that sign up for 1/4 page (or larger) 5 issues advertising package (with 10% discount). Free Business Profile: (7.5 w x 4.75 h) approx. 350 words plus photo.
The editor or BCA cannot take responsibility for quality of print or web advertisements when the electronic files are provided from outside sources.
Payment must be received by the deadline date. Cheques are payable to the Blackburn
Community Association (BCA) and can be mailed or delivered to: 5729 Kemplane Court,
